Il 31 agosto è uscito per Domino il suo terzo disco, “Hunter”, un album art rock stupendo che dovreste far vostro al più presto.
Il disco contiene molte riflessioni sull’identità di genere maturate dopo la conclusione di un rapporto di otto anni con un uomo a cui è seguito l’inizio di una relazione con una donna, che ha portato Anna Calvi a trasferirsi a Strasburgo.
A proposito di As a Man, l’ultimo video pubblicato lo scorso 12 settembre, Anna Calvi ha scritto:
In this song I’m trying to understand a man by imagining becoming him, but I eventually ask the man to be more like a woman instead. There’s been a lot of encouragement for women to become more like men if they want to get their voices heard, or be powerful. But there hasn’t been enough effort to get men to become more like women. Men are brought up believing that to be feminine is to be weak. If there is to be equality, both sexes need to be able to move to the middle of the spectrum. This song is about finding freedom in the non-binary world.

Presto l’artista verrà a suonare anche in Italia. Il 21 novembre Anna Calvi sarà a Parma al Barezzi Festival (prima di lei si esibirà Joan Thiele, dopo di lei Maria Antonietta), il 22 a Torino (Hiroshima Mon Amour) e il 23 a Roma al Largo Venue.
